▶ The movie was initially planned with #AravindSwamy.
▶ The film marked the second collaboration of #Jyothika with Director #Vasanth,who had introduced her in Poovellaam Kaettupaar (Though #Vaalee released earlier). It was also the second movie of #RameshAravind with Vasanth after Keladi Kanmani (1990). Arjun later did his second movie with Vasanth, “Moondru per Moondru kadhal”(2013).
▶ The first Venture of Vasanth that had music composed by A.R.Rahman, the album had five songs based on the 5 Elements(Pancha Boothangal) : “Nadhiye Nadhiye”- Water, ” Thaniye thannandhaniye” – Land, “Haiyo Pathikichu” – Fire 🔥, “Kalakalavena pozhiyum” – Sky,” “Kaatre en Vaasal” – Wind.
▶ The movie was based on real life incidents. It was reported later in magazines like Ananda Vikatan, that it was based on Renowned tamil writer Saavi’s daughter, who had lost her husband in an accident, and had remarried a person who had lost his wife in the same accident.

▶ Anant Mahadevan who played Asha Sarath’s pair in Papanasam, played a small role as the temple priest in Rhythm.
▶ Singer Shankar Mahadevan made a special appearance in “Thaniye thannandhaniye” number, which was his first onscreen appearance in a Tamil movie.
