Started off with a Disastrous(Earned him a Filmfare best debut award though) #Saawariya(2007) clashing with #SRK’s Om Shanthi Om, but bounced back with the decent hit #BachnaAeHaseeno. However he announced his arrival loud and clear in 2009, where he impressed with 3 different movies, each belonging to a different genre – the coming of age flick #WakeUpSid (By #AyanMukherjee, who gave him biggest blockbuster till date #YJHD), the candyfloss romantic flick by #RajkumarSantoshi #AjabPremKiGhazabKahani, and the critically acclaimed #RocketSingh, ultimately earning him his second Filmfare award, this time a critics choice. More Success followed, with the #PrakashJha multistarrer #Rajneeti, #Imtiaz directorial critically acclaimed #Rockstar, the #AnuragBasu classic #Barfi, where he lived in the titular character, and then his biggest ever commercial success #YehJawaniHaiDeewani. But the followups to such a promising start weren’t great, as the success train derailed post 2013, with the consecutive failures of #Besharam, #Roy (an extended Cameo), #BombayVelvet(a disappointment considering #AnuragKashyap helming it!) and the lovable, critically acclaimed commercial disaster by Imtiaz Ali, #Tamasha.

With the rise of #Ranveer and the return of #Shahid, adding to his string of failures, many have already written off this young man,who still has a lot of surprises in store. This is one fresh talent who can perfectly balance the commercially viable ventures and the performance oriented sensible movies. I sense a comeback from this man, with this #Diwali release, directed by #KaranJohar – #AeDilHaiMushkil, besides he also has Anurag Basu’s #JaggaJasoos, Ayan Mukherjee’s Dragon with #AliaBhatt, and the Sanjay Dutt biopic by #RajkumarHirani.

Happy Birthday #RanbirKapoor 🎂
