Four persons were injured and one killed in a explosion in Chandni Chowk, old Delhi. The exposion took place on 25th October in the wholesale market area of Chandni Chowk around 10:45 am. The area is thick with firecracker factories and the explosion is mostly said to have been caused by firecrackers or gas cylinder.
The police and fire officials were alerted immediately after the blast. DCP Madhur Verma led teams and firemen rushed to the spot along with a forensics team. The anti terror wing and special cell were also called.
There hasn’t been any conclusive evidence on the nature of the blast. Arson is also being considered as a cause until further reports from the forensic teams.
