A Rocket operated by Aerospace company SpaceX has exploded on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral where it was being test-fired ahead of its launch.
The blast force shook buildings all over the surrounding places and also the force was felt miles away from the blast. There was plume of smoke arises around causing nasty effects. SpaceX said the blast was occured when the rocket was being fueled and they also reports zero casualties.
They also reported that rockets payload which is a communication satellite due launch on Saturday was also destroyed durring this incident.
Amos-6 satellite was valued over $200m. Eutelsat, in partnership with Facebook had been due to the use the Amos-6 to deliver broadband coverage for its internet.org initiative.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was upset over this issue and he added in his official facebook account ‘We remain commited to our mission of connecting everyone and we will keep working until everyone has the opportunities this satellite would have provided.’
The satellite was supposed to cover the sub-saharan africa as part of Internet.org.
